When your customers enter their bank card information at the point of sale over Internet they want assurance that their account information is safe. That is why companies have created compliance guidelines which must be strictly followed. Accepting VISA creditcards for online companies has become more complicated. In June 2001, VISA USA established the Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP). CISP is intended to protect Visa cardholders’ data.
In 2004, the CISP requirements were incorporated into an industry standard known as Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security which was a result from the collaboration between Visa and MasterCard.
AboutSupport has assisted many companies in the process of making sure that their join pages and servers that host them meet the PCI standards.
